United States’ accomplished songwriter and producer Rick Bacchus, who had worked with top American stars like Alicia Keys, Backstreet Boys and Stevie Wonder among others, has said if Ghana expects any of its talents on the music scene to go international any time soon, then it definitely must be Becca.

Speaking with NEWS ONE in an interview, Rick, who says he has not taken time to listen to other Ghanaian musicians, said listening to Becca’s voice gives him a fair idea of what music talents Ghana has.

“I don’t like what Becca is doing, let me tell you, I love her music,” he whispered to paper’s reporter as though he had lost control of himself.

According to the original music producers for MTV’s television popular show, Making the Band, Becca is simply an international material and the Afro pop artiste, he disclosing that she has got all the qualities it takes to break into the global market.

He suggested that the Ghanaian should not confine her talent to West Africa or Africa alone. The Chairman and CEO of Bacchus Music has been in Ghana for some months now, and was due to return to the States on Monday, December 21. Alongside other businesses activities in Ghana, his aim was also to study the music environment in Ghana.

Rick told NEWS-ONE that he is scouting for good music talents to give them international platform to prove themselves, adding that he is planning to organize a talent hunt show in collaboration with Vienna City Restaurant in Accra. Rick is one of America’s faces behind the stars who have a lot credits in the world of music.

He won triple platinum award from the Australian Recording Association for the Australian Idol Finale theme song “Always and Forever”. He was a guest judge for many of the industry’s leading talent showcases, including Australian Idol, and Lou Pearlman’s Fashion Rock.

A graduate of Oxford University, Rick Bacchus also has a wealth of general business experience. In addition to his musical endeavors, Rick is CEO of his own thriving clothing company, designing and outfitting the world’s leading hotels and casinos with high-end fashions.

His clients include the Bellagio and Wynn hotels in Las Vegas, and the Borgata hotel in Atlantic City. Rick Bacchus maintains many strong relationships with prominent figures in the music industry.

Through close ties with industry legends such as Ron Alexenburg, former President of Columbia/Epic Records and Johnny Wright, prominent artist manager for the likes of Justin Timberlake, Britney Spears, Bacchus Music is well-positioned to fully capitalize on opportunities that might not otherwise be available to other independent music groups.

He also collaborates closely with other well-known music producers, and his work with Max Martin (Backstreet Boys, Kelly Clarkson) and Tony Collucio (Christina Aguilera, Celine Dion) resulted in massive international radio exposure.

During his stay, he produced some songs for Becca’s yet-to-be-released album. He is expected back in Ghana in January, 2010 to get his music agenda through.
